Teacher Severely Beaten Near North Bergen School, Video Shows

A New Jersey high school teacher was beaten earlier this month in an incident that was recorded on video, police said. One man was arrested, and he remains in jail.

Luis A. Flores, 19, of Union City jumped the North Bergen High School teacher on Dec. 11. He was charged with aggravated assault and riot. One week after the incident, Flores pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of disorderly persons, according to nj.com.

Flores is not a student at the school. The teacher, a longtime history educator who would only go by the name “Lou,” was walking to his car at the end of the school day when he saw two girls fighting about two blocks away from the school, a North Bergen police spokesman told nj.com. That’s when Flores allegedly jumped him.

The video shows the teacher being punched, thrown to the ground and kicked in the face as others stood and watched. Here is the video:
